Local Soup Kitchen

2nd Fridays

Calvary Baptist Church serves at our local Soup Kitchen on the second Friday of every month at 10:00 am. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve those in our community that need some generosity. This allows us to meet and know the names of those in our community that we may be able to assist. This is a wonder ministry during the summer to get our kids and students exposed to the real needs that exist in our town. Compassion ministries are a great need here in Shelbyville.

Faith-Based Foster Care and Adoption

Homes of Hope

Calvary supports Homes of Hope, a local faith-based foster care and adaption organization. Foster families and foster family support are currently large needs in Bedford County. Homes of Hope is committed to recruiting Christian foster families and offering support to all Bedford County foster families. They also offer support to at-risk families and families who are raising someone else’s biological children such as adoptive families, family members, neighbors, friends, etc.

Abstinence Education

First Choice Pregnancy Center

Calvary also supports First Choice Pregnancy Center, a nonprofit ministry offering abstinence education, life-affirming alternatives to abortion, and compassionate care and support to those who face unplanned pregnancies. Clients are treated with kindness and compassion. Client information is held in strict confidence. Clients receive accurate information about pregnancy, fetal development, abortion risks and procedures, adoption information, parenting education, lifestyle issues, sexual health and other related concerns.
